Treatment for narcissistic personality disorder NPD typically involves a combination of both psychotherapy talk therapy and medication management. While there is no cure for NPD, therapy can help narcissists to better relate to and treat others, as well as increase their ability to understand and regulate their feelings.

Therapy may be used in the short term or provided on an ongoing basis. There are currently no medications used specifically to treat narcissistic personality disorder NPDthough individuals with NPD may be prescribed other medications if they demonstrate symptoms of depression, anxiety, or another mental health disorder.
