Govt. finalizes heli taxi operators in Himachal


Himachal Pradesh government official today said that the state government has finalised heli taxi service operators in the state to cater to high end tourists.

Director, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Dr. Arun Sharma said that three heli taxi operators, Simm Samm Airways, Shiva Heli Services and Mesco Airlines will soon operate heli taxi services in the state.

He said that Simm Samm Airways Pvt. Ltd. will operate between Kullu-Manali-Koksar, Manali-Sissu-Manali-Tandi (DIET), Tandi-Udaipur and Udaipur-Killar.

Shiva Heli Services would operate between Manali-Bhuntar-Manali, Manali-Rohtang Pass-Manali, Manali Valley ferry (joyride) from SASE base.

MESCO Airlines has proposed to operate between Shimla – Chandigarh Airport, Chandigarh Airport- Dharamsala (Police Ground), Shimla -Kullu Airport, Kullu Airport – Tandi (DIET), Tandi (DIET) – Udaipur, Udaipur – Killar, Killar – Udaipur, Udaipur – Tandi (DIET), Tandi (DIET) – Kullu Airport, Shimla – Tabo, Shimla – Kaza, Tabo – Kaza, Kaza – Tabo and Shimla – Reckong Peo sectors.

He said that base of Heli taxi operators would be at Annadale helipad at Shimla and Manali simultaneously.

The ticketing for the same would be done by the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) from their offices/hotels within and outside the state.
