We really enjoyed our stay at the HPTDC hotel in Chail and the ones in the other towns looked good too. So when we saw that Khara Pathar had one, we didn’t think twice before booking our stay there while visiting the Giri Ganga, 6 km from the resort. And we weren’t disappointed at all!

Located just on the outskirts of the village, the Giri Ganga Resort is named after the sacred Giri Ganga river, which has its source just 6kms uphill. Built in the late 1990s, the hotel is very nicely maintained with plenty of woodwork in a dark walnut finish. Every room in the hotel is designed to give a great view of the valley below. Our double-room was quite large with a balcony overlooking the lovely valley. Apart from the usual study table & chair, coffee table & chairs, color TV with cable and armoire, there was a nice vanity mirror and table as well. The bathroom was nicely sized with updated fixtures and a large geyser for hot water. Overall the room was extremely comfortable.

The hotel’s on-site restaurant dished out really good food and we got impeccable service as well.
